On May 14, four students won the second edition of a project which combines Lineapelle\u2019s excellence with Hongik University of Seoul and its top-notch quality teaching approach. Focus on the ability to rethink fashion creativity and materials, which are its expressive tool<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The name given to the project is K Leather Creativity<\/strong>. It has actively engaged 40 students attending the Fashion Design, Ceramic, and Industrial Design course at\u00a0Hongik University <\/strong>of Seoul<\/strong><\/a>. Such was the aim of the contest: to employ young people\u2019s creativity, pointed out the organizers, and apply it to cutting-edge leather-centred projects with a focus on the RE suffix challenge. In other words: \u201cREcycle\u201d, \u201cREusable\u201d, \u201cREinterpretation\u201d, \u201cREcreate\u201d, \u201cREinvent\u201d and \u201cREconnect\u201d. Very briefly, in a nutshell: REthink<\/strong>. A top-notch educational challenge, on its second edition in 2020.<\/p>\n

A master class <\/strong>journey culminated last May 14 with the award ceremony (held online on Milan-Seoul digital connection) and the prize given to the four winning projects.<\/p>\n

Lineapelle\u2019s educational challenge<\/strong><\/h4>\n

During spring 2020, in the middle of lockdown restrictions, Lineapelle arranged a set of online seminars<\/strong>, directed at Korean students, on a few topical issues: Italian leather sustainability, leather-tanning circular model and technical elements of the tanning process. Later, in September, they launched some more research digital activities<\/strong>, whose primary aim was to foster the development of those projects and prototypes.<\/p>\n

All players involved in it strongly supported such kind of \u201ccomeback\u201d. In fact, the first edition of the project had driven a stimulating and creative vitality; subsequently, all prototypes had been exhibited at Fieramilano Rho, during Lineapelle February 2020 edition.<\/p>\n

The winners of the K Leather Creativity Awards<\/strong><\/h4>\n

In the contest, there were two categories: Fashion Design<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Industrial Design<\/strong>. For each of them, there have been two winners, respectively divided into two distance learning (online lessons) semesters.<\/p>\n

As regards the Fashion Design<\/u> area, first semester, the winner was KimMinJU<\/strong>, who presented Coexistence<\/strong>, a \u201cwoven leather corset giving a modern interpretation of women\u2019s elegance\u201d (picture right).<\/p>\n

As regards the Fashion Design<\/u>\u00a0area, second semester, the winner was Lee Mi Sun<\/strong>, who presented his Micro Mobility Driver Outfit.<\/p>\n

In other words, a clothing project aiming to fulfil the needs for a smart and new generation urban mobility (picture left).<\/p>\n

For the Industrial Design <\/u>category, about attendance in the first educational training semester, Chung So Hee <\/strong>won first prize: he presented his Celi Leather Table. The concept depicted, in an extremely original way, \u201cleather material\u201d in the home furnishing accessories (picture bottom centre).<\/p>\n

Ultimately, as for the Industrial Design <\/u>category, about attendance in the second educational training semester, the winner was Park JooHee<\/strong>, who presented his Princess Baridegi, an artisan and artistic project which turns into a box full of tales.<\/p>\n
