Three years after the outbreak of the pandemic, the Fashion City of Italy, now an international leader, presents itself to the world with fashion shows and trade fairs that rediscover and consolidate its identity and dimension. Here is everything that will happen in Milan from 21 to 27 February<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

In February, the navel of the trade fair world is Milan, the Italian fashion capital<\/strong>. According to data compiled by the Accademia del Lusso, <\/strong>before the pandemic broke out, fashion in the Lombard metropolis reached an annual <\/strong>turnover of 19 billion euros, 6 of which were exports<\/strong>, and 13,000 companies <\/strong>employed 90,000 people<\/strong>, with a very high concentration in the Quadrilatero and Brera districts. A proper Fashion City that, three years after the event that shook the planet, is rediscovering its identity and dimension.<\/p>\n

Welcome to Fashion City<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The signature event is the Milan Fashion Week <\/strong>dedicated to women, which will take place from 21 to 27 February<\/strong>. One hundred sixty-five events are scheduled: 54 fashion shows, 5 digital fashion shows, 70 presentations, 7 presentations by appointment and 29 events. The location of the Fashion Hub <\/strong>changes and will be at the historic Palazzo Giureconsulti<\/strong>. During the event, on 26 February at 3.00 p.m., the seminar UNIC \u2013 Concerie Italiane <\/strong>(also at Palazzo Giureconsulti) entitled The Power of Leather <\/strong>is scheduled. Objective: to dispel all the false myths about leather<\/strong>. On the catwalks, many big brands.<\/p>\n

Prada <\/strong>will show on 23 February, and Gucci <\/strong>is scheduled for the following day: it will present the latest collection created by the style office. And also, on the 24th, Tod’s <\/strong>opens, and Jil Sander <\/strong>closes. On the 25th, it will be the turn of Maximilian Davis<\/strong>‘ second collection for Salvatore Ferragamo<\/strong>, then Dolce&Gabbana <\/strong>and Bottega Veneta<\/strong>. Finally, on Sunday 26, Giorgio Armani <\/strong>will close the fashion shows, as usual. According to the latest data, the tourist-induced revenue linked to the event is around 20 million euros<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The navel of the fair trade world<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Milan fashion shows<\/a>, however, represent the glamorous extent of the great trade fair lunch <\/strong>that Fashion City proposes every six months. In fact, the fashion and luxury industry finds in the same days (and shortly before) its maximum systemic concentration of trade fair events<\/strong> put on by the category associations that are part of Confindustria Moda<\/strong>. Homi Fashion&Jewels <\/strong>(17-20 February) opens the roundup, and Lineapelle 101 <\/strong>(21-23 February) closes it, the event hosting the most significant number of companies: 1,161<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

At the centre of the calendar are Micam 95 <\/strong>(988 footwear brands), Mipel 123 <\/strong>(150 leather goods labels) and TheOneMilano <\/strong>(115 brands, including clothing and fur). All will take place from Sunday 19 to Wednesday 22 February in Milan, in the halls of Fieramilano Rho (as Lineapelle). Style focus: the 2023\/2024 winter season. It will be the first edition after the pandemic without the international travel restrictions so that<\/strong>, potentially, people from all over the world will be able to come to Fieramilano.
