The six fashion shows and six presentations of the fifth Lineapelle Designers Edition raised the temperature of an excellent Lineapelle, demonstrating – once again – how versatile and transversal leather can be not only from a creative and stylistic point of view
From denim-effect leather used for jackets, tops, skirts and trousers by the Cassel brand to studded biker jackets studded with rhinestones and Swarovski crystals by Anton Giulio Grande. Rock eroticism was carried down the catwalk by Leonardo Valentini with black leather suits decorated with gold-coloured spikes and fringed waistcoats and skirts in crocodile-print leather. Degraded or shaded tie dye effect leather took shape in fluid looks by the Giuglia brand. And much more. Here is everything you missed if you were not at Fiera Milano Rho from 20 to 22 February 2024 to attend the Lineapelle Designers Edition fashion shows held during Lineapelle 103.
Lineapelle Designer Edition
The material leather was explored and exalted in many variations in the collections presented at the fifth Lineapelle Designers Edition. This event, created to support and enhance leather and its applications, hosted twelve brands that were able to showcase their creations in shows that alternated not only during the three days of Lineapelle 103 but also in the centre of Milan, at Spazio Lineapelle, from 20 to 25 February. The event was integrated in the best way possible into Milan Fashion Week, acquiring a prominent role and attracting the attention of the trade public as well as celebrities and influencers sitting in the front row to enjoy the show.

What you missed
The first fashion show in the exhibition was that of Mario Dice, who was enchanted with a mix of sequins, transparencies and perforated, carved, printed and embossed leather to design the image of a sensual and self-confident woman. Femininity was also powerfully expressed on the Anton Giulio Grande catwalk, which combined evening dresses with trench coats and jackets embellished with mini-studs and even fluffy feathers.
Then, it was the turn of Alberto Zambelli, who put his sartorial skills to the test with leathers, using sophisticated textures and asymmetrical cuts. The designer played with layering, superimposing trousers on skirts, jackets on leather bibs, and soft leather bandanas on long gloves in the same shade of leather. All are searching for materials and shapes with a slightly mysterious touch of glamour.
Total leather, this is very rock
Cassel‘s show was then almost total leather, although it might not have looked like it on the surface. In fact, what at first glance might have looked like a standard pair of jeans was instead denim-effect leather. The brand studied the leather workmanship using different thicknesses and surfaces: complex printed for jackets, soft and thin for hot pants and tight-fitting tops. On the other hand, a combination of different influences and styles was shown by the emerging brand Giuglia, which used leather in original shades, splashed and scratched effects, and watercolour nuances.
Closing this Lineapelle Designers Edition was the fashion show by Leonardo Valentini, famous for having dressed the likes of Lenny Kravitz, Måneskin, Irama, Ghali and Rose Villain. His collection, with its genderless and rebellious approach, combined ultra-light silks and embroidery, gold metallics and leather accessories made from production waste. It has a transgressive and extremely contemporary look.
Spazio Lineapelle
While at Lineapelle, the catwalk was being paraded, and at Spazio Lineapelle (Piazza Tomasi di Lampedusa, Milan), six shows by six brands were being staged. The objective was the same as that of the fashion shows at the fair. “To present the public with a wide range of creative interpretations of leather and how this material is unique and iconic, versatile and inimitable, and suitable for all fashion trends. Designers from different backgrounds and styles, supported by the supply chain of the Italian tanneries that carry out extraordinary work on this material, took part”. In order of appearance: NI-DO Bags, Conceria Dani, IAIA Milano, Amato Daniele, Brutus and De Couture.
